Position Title: Social Media & WOM Marketing Intern
Position Start Date: September 9, 2009
Duties
We are looking for 3 interns to join the Agent Wildfire team this fall. Each will be assigned to a different Influencer program. Duties will be varied for each project. Interns will be involved with additional client activity including pitching, client meetings, co-ordinating with outsourced designers and some event planning.
1. Generation Go (www.gengo.ca)
This program is targeted towards active urbanites in the GTA. It is a community site and bulletin board for anyone interested in getting out and doing anything active in Toronto.
· Assist in managing bloggers and coming up with story ideas for the blog.
· Conduct interviews and write articles for the blog.
· Help with the design and creation of the new online community/social network.
· Collaborate on some sponsorship work for winter Gen Go properties.
· Help with some event planning for upcoming Gen Go sponsored events.
2. Trend City
This program is for style-conscious, tastemakers, innovation brokers, culture-savvy trend-spotters and seriously connected ringleaders. An online network and social media outlet for people focused on what’s next. Trend City is debuting this year with panel discussions, ideas and inspiration and trend reports.
· Assist in event planning for the Trend City events.
· Help to arrange speakers for the panel discussions.
· Work on designing and launching the online community portion of Trend City.
· Generate ideas for sponsorship of Trend City events and projects.
· Research and invite new members into the community.
3. League of Kickass (www.theleagueofkickass.com)
The League of Kickass is a social network is a collection of leading senior level digital, marketing, media and business headline stealers, tastemakers, rainmakers & opinion leaders. The League of Kickass Under 30 is a social network for young leaders and influencers.
· Help manage the communities for both League of Kickass and League of Kickass Under 30.
· Collaborate on event planning and event management.
· Research and recruit new members for the communities.
· Post on the blogs for both LOK and LOKU30.
Required Skills:
· Passion for social media and digital marketing
· Familiarity with writing for the web
· Knowledge of Web 2.0 applications
· Interviewing skills
Additional Skills:
· Web design skills are an asset
· Sponsorship experience is an asset
· Blogging experience
